Welcome to the Aerodynamics Laboratory of Sivas University of Science and Technology! This is a place where the movement of air is studied and where you open the doors to the exciting world of aerodynamics. In the Aerodynamics Laboratory, under the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, applied and theoretical research/teaching on Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics is carried out. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as wind tunnel and flow measurement trainer, radiation trainer, heat conduction trainer, natural and forced heat convection trainer and auxiliary equipment and sensors, our laboratory offers a unique experience to students, academic staff and aviation enthusiasts. The training and experiences offered in our laboratory are aimed at those who want to explore the principles of aerodynamics, which play an important role in many sectors such as aviation, automotive, energy and construction. It provides an ideal environment for both academic and industrial projects. In addition, while conducting experiments in our laboratory, students are guided by an experienced and specialized academic staff. By utilizing their knowledge and experience, you can better understand the complex world of aerodynamics and develop practical projects.

Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as Gas Turbine Jet Engine Trainer and Ramjet Trainer, our laboratory offers a unique experience to students, academic staff and aviation enthusiasts. The training and experiences offered in our laboratory are aimed at those who want to take part in aviation, space research, defense industry and advanced technology projects. It provides an ideal environment for both reinforcing theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills. In addition, students are guided by an experienced and specialized academic staff while conducting experiments in our laboratory. By utilizing their knowledge and experience, you can better understand the complex world of engine technology, develop your studies and projects, and realize your innovative ideas.

Lütfi Abay Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Laboratory

In this laboratory, the design, assembly, control and programming of rotary wing and fixed wing UAVs are carried out. In addition to these studies, both simulation and real environment tests are carried out on code development with ready-made UAVs, swarm UAV and mixed swarm studies, path planning studies, image processing and positioning studies.

In our laboratory, a 3-metre by 5-metre cage has been established to ensure that UAVs can fly safely in a closed environment and to minimise the damage they can cause to themselves and their surroundings. In our laboratory, there are 4 mini UAVs (craziflie) and 2 Tello drones, 3 drones that we have assembled ourselves and various equipment for drone motorisation, testing, etc. You can see the equipment in our laboratory in Figures 2, 3 and 4.

Swarm algorithm tests and control studies are carried out on mini UAVs. Path planning, image processing etc. studies are carried out on Tello. Autonomous flight studies, swarm studies, etc. are carried out on our own drones.

This laboratory includes Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Simulation, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Design-Manufacturing and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Maintenance-Repair Laboratories.
In our laboratory, there are UAV simulation systems, rotary wing and fixed wing UAV sets, 3D printers, various sensors and equipment necessary for the production and assembly of UAVs..

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH SYSTEMS

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Simulation Laboratory
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Simulation Laboratory is used for the design, control and flight tests of unmanned aerial vehicles. In these laboratories, all systems of unmanned aerial vehicles are simulated, and real-life situations are tested in advance and the performance of the vehicles is measured.

The simulation laboratory is also used for the development and testing of software and hardware for unmanned aerial vehicles. In these laboratories, the behavior of vehicles can be measured and necessary improvements can be made by simulating real weather conditions. At the same time, UAV piloting training will be given in this laboratory with skill development methods in environments where real weather conditions are simulated.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Laboratory
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Laboratory offers a well-equipped laboratory environment for the design, production, testing and qualification studies of unmanned aerial vehicles used in the aviation industry.

In these laboratories, students and researchers can design, manufacture and test prototypes of different sizes for unmanned aerial vehicles.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Maintenance-Repair Laboratory
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Maintenance-Repair Laboratory has advanced equipment where electrical, mechanical and software components of UAVs can be tested and maintenance-repair operations can be performed.

At the same time, in the UAV Maintenance-Repair Laboratory, studies are carried out to increase the reliability, durability and performance of UAVs, as well as to better design and manufacture UAVs.

As a result, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Maintenance-Repair Laboratory makes significant contributions to the development of UAV technology and ensures safe and efficient operation of UAVs.
